Israel is much nicer to its Arab citizens than the Arab countries ever were to their Jewish citizens (more info on this statement below- check it out). The next time you hear somebody complaining, you will know what to say. 

Two of my personal favorites: 

     #2: An Arab judge, George Karra, sentenced an ex-Israeli president Moshe Katsav to prison for seven years.

     #7: Israeli Arabs have their own political parties in the Knesset -- some of whom are Israel's harshest critics.

The great mass of Jews left under duress. They were expelled. They were subjected to such enormous pressure that they had no choice but to leave.

The number of Jews living in Arab countries and Iran totaled more than 850,000 at the time of Israel’s independence. Some scholars even think the number is closer to one million. In the North African region, 259,000 Jews fled from Morocco, 140,000 from Algeria, 100,000 from Tunisia, 75,000 from Egypt, and another 38,000 from Libya. In the Middle East, 135,000 Jews were exiled from Iraq, 55,000 from Yemen, 34,000 from Turkey, 20,000 from Lebanon and 18,000 from Syria. Iran forced out 25,000 Jews.

Why Anybody and Everybody Should Support Israel

By "anybody and everybody," I am referring to those who value freedom and basic human rights.

I am going to make this post short because this is all self-explanatory. These are all facts and I feel that the facts themselves should make anybody understand why supporting Israel is the right thing to do.

Whether you are or aren't Jewish, whether you do or don't feel a connection to the land of Israel, and whether you do or don't feel affected by what is goes on in the Middle East- that does not matter. There is still one major reason why you should care about and support Israel.

You see, Israel is the only democratic state in the Middle East. It is America's most trustworthy ally.

As the talented Brigitte Gabriel, founder of Act for America, a non-profit organization that educates citizens and elected officials about national security and terrorism, says quite often, "we need to take political correctness and throw it in the garbage where it belongs."

So what does Israel's ideals and its relationship with America have to do with you?

Let's be real.
9/11.

We all know that 9/11 was a terrorist attack organized by Al Qaeda, a militant Islamist terrorist organization. (There have been other threats against America by other terrorist organizations from the Middle East- one other example is 1993 when an attack against the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels was thwarted. This attack was planned by Omar Abdel-Rahman, a leader of a radical Egyptian Islamic Group al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya, that has links to al-Qaeda. For the sake of keeping this short, I won't go into further detail).

It was no accident. This was an attack on Western culture- democracy.
Al Qaeda (and al-Gama'a al-Islamiyya) have strong ties to Iran, a country that is known for funding, providing weapons and equipment for, and training terrorists.

ISIS, the Islamic States of Syria and Iraq, is responsible for murdering thousands of Christians over the past couple of months.

Israel is surrounded by all of these threats and suffers from these terrorist attacks on a regular basis (monthly, sometimes daily).

Where does this place you?
Behind Israel.
Because once (hopefully it will never get to this point) these terrorist organizations are through with Israel, they're ready to attack (and already have) and get rid of anybody else who supports Western ideals rather than their own ideology.

Why should you support Israel?
Israel is the little saint and America is the big saint.
Israel is on the front lines right now, fighting for our rights as well as its own.

Stand with freedom.
Stand with democracy.
Stand with basic human rights.
Stand with Israel.

Because at the end of the day, we're all in the same boat.
Our boat just isn't as close as Israel's boat is.
Want to keep it this way?
Do something. Say something.

Israeli Terror Victims Oppose Releasing Terrorists for Negotiations

Most Israeli terror victims say “no” to releasing convicted Palestinian terrorists especially when it won’t save a life. 
The majority of Israeli terror victims are opposed to releasing terrorists in order to jump start peace negotiations with the Palestinians, says Mark Belzberg, Chairman of One Family, an Israeli organization which assists Israeli victims of Palestinian terrorism.

Belzberg is responding to a US suggestion that Israel release Palestinian terrorists from the pre-Oslo period as a goodwill gesture to encourage the Palestinian Authority to negotiate with Israel. Israel has agreed to release 82 Palestinian terrorists with blood on their hands in the course of four stages over the next eight months, yet has refused to set free Israeli Arab security prisoners.

“Whenever terrorists are released, it brings back the horror and terror, even if the released terrorist wasn’t the one who did it to you,” said Belzberg. “It hits the terror victims in the heart. It brings back grief and anger and it is very difficult for them.”

Although Israeli terror victims oppose releasing terrorists, Belzberg reports that the victims are often less opposed to releasing terrorists if it results in saving a Jewish life. “Jews are willing to do any thing to save another Jewish life,” he says. “The Jewish people are willing to pay a price to save someone from injustice.”
For example, Belzberg says, half of the Israeli terror victims supported the Gilat Shalit prisoner exchange for this reason. Although it was painful for them to see murderers walk free and in many cases return to terror, they saw the tangible benefit that a young man was able to have his life back, he says. Belzberg also argues that many victims would consent to releasing Palestinian terrorists in exchange for the freedom of Jonathan Pollard, viewing it as a means to correct a miscarriage of justice that would permit Pollard to live out the rest of his days in peace.

Yet, the vast majority of Israeli terror victims do not support the idea of releasing Palestinian terror victims simply in order to pursue peace talks that they doubt will lead to peace between the two peoples. “If you took a life, you should be punished … If you are releasing a person who should be executed, there is a sense of injustice being done,” Belzberg says.

Since a great number of released Palestinian terrorists have returned to terror upon their release, the victims are skeptical about any value to such a deal, he adds.

And, while he understands that the Americans are making this request for pragmatic reasons, assuming the Palestinians are unlikely to agree to negotiations otherwise, nevertheless, Belzberg added, in speaking for the victims, that “this Palestinian request shouldn’t be condoned.”

Palestinian Newspaper Admits: Israel Helps Palestinians

Despite the Israeli-Arab conflict, a Palestinian newspaper has recognized how Israel’s Hadassah Medical Center has helped the Palestinian people.

According to Palestinian Media Watch, the Palestinian Minister of Health, Hani Abdeen visited the Israeli Hadassah Hospital. This is the first visit by a Palestinian minister to one of the most important Israeli hospitals. 

Hospital director Yuval Weiss said "We relate to patients without regard to nationality and religion. We treat Muslims, Christians, Jews, and other nationalities without bias, and 30% of the patients who are children are Palestinians."

Israel’s medical establishment has always worked to save Palestinian lives with the same vigor that they save Israeli lives. In fact, a 2012 report from the World Health Organization found that Israel approved 91.5 percent of all Palestinian applications to receive medical care within the State of Israel. Save a Child’s Heart, an Israeli organization, has saved the lives of 3,000 children, of who half were hailing from the Palestinian Authority. 

IT IS RARE FOR A PA NEWSPAPER TO PRAISE ISRAEL

The fact that the official PA daily Al Hayat Al Jadida has recognized these facts is very refreshing, especially given the routine incitement that occurs against Israel in this publication, as well as other Palestinian newspapers. 
For example, in the past, the Al Hayat Al Jadida publication has accused Israel of murdering and poisoning Palestinian prisoners, and declared that Israel withholds “elementary human rights from Palestinian children.” 
Indeed, this one article was a rare example where the Al Hayat Al Jadida publication showed Israel in a positive light, as a country that helps rather than hurts Palestinians.

Message to the World: Israel is NOT apartheid

South African Member of Parliament: Israel is Not an Apartheid State

South African MP Rev. Dr. Kenneth Meshoe, a person of color who survived the apartheid regime, explains why Israel cannot be considered an apartheid state. 

South African MP Rev. Dr. Kenneth Meshoe wrote in the San Francisco Examiner, “As a black South African who lived under apartheid, this system was implemented in South Africa to subjugate people of color and deny them a variety of their rights. In my view, Israel cannot be compared to apartheid in South Africa. Those who make the accusation expose their ignorance of what apartheid really is.” Meshoe made this statement upon visiting San Francisco, where he was shocked to learn of posters posted within the city comparing Israel to the apartheid regime in South Africa.

The Americans for Palestine group placed posters on the New York subway not too long ago where Desmond Tutu is quoted as stating, “I’ve been very distressed by my visit in the Holy Land; it reminded me so much of what happened to us black people in South Africa.” The ad then continues, “Americans give Israel $3 billion per year. End Apartheid Now! Stop US aid to Israel!” Yet, Meshoe has very strong arguments why Tutu and various anti-Israel groups wrongly compare the situation in Israel to the apartheid regime in South Africa.

He asserted, “As a black South African under apartheid, I, among other things, could not vote, nor could I freely travel the landscape of South Africa. No person of color could hold high government office. The races were strictly segregated at sports arenas, public restrooms, schools and on public transportation. People of color had inferior hospitals, medical care and education. If a white doctor was willing to take a black patient, he had to examine him or her in a back room or some other hidden place. In my numerous visits to Israel, I did not see any of the above.”

Meshoe pointed out that in Israel, racial equality is enshrined in Israeli law. As the Israeli Declaration of Independence proclaims, Israel will “ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irregardless of religion, race, or sex.” If one takes a train or bus in Israel, one will witness Muslims sitting next to Jews; Ethiopian Jews of color sitting next to Jews of European and Middle Eastern origin. On university campuses, in work places, and in restaurants, the same scene can be witnessed. No public bathroom in Israel is segregated by race or religion. Furthermore, there are Arabs serving as university professors, doctors, soldiers, and even as government officials. Arabs in Israel have rights and privileges that a black living under the apartheid regime in South Africa can only dream of.

Meshoe concluded, “I am shocked by the claim that the free, diverse, democratic state of Israel practices apartheid. This ridiculous accusation trivializes the word apartheid, minimizing and belittling the magnitude of the racism and suffering endured by South Africans of color.”
