Ilhan Omar Wants to Sanction Israel But Not Turkey- Some Info On Turkey

Ilhan Omar is one of the members of Congress who introduced a bill to legalize boycott, divestment, and sanctions against Israel. Yet this is what she wrote in response to Trump imposing sanctions before lifting them and then threatening more sanctions.

Given her relationship with Turkey, it’s easy to understand why she wouldn’t want sanctions against it. A previous post about her relationship with Turkey can be found here.

She wrote: “Research has shown that sanctions rarely achieve their desired goals. In the worst-case scenario, they hurt the people of a country — generally the very people we’re purporting to help — without making a dent in the country’s behavior. And in the case of human rights abusers, research suggests that more abuses typically occur with economic sanctions in place than without them.”

It is about to enshrine into law the modern equivalent of discrimination against Jews: BDS. It is the first national parliament in Europe to do so.

Israel Education and Activism Seminar

Today I am sharing a presentation that I gave a couple of months ago on Yom Hazikaron. I have shared this presentation with quite a few people now. 

I discussed what happened in Israel🇮🇱 during the last escalation. I gave an overview of the history of Israel, discussed Gaza, the terrorist parties involved, and global terrorism. I basically gave the big picture into the Israel-Palestinian conflict, as well as information that is useful when understanding why these issues exist and how to stand up to anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism.

I want to note that I cover a lot of information and I had only 50 minutes to cover a topic that requires much more time than just that. I am also politically incorrect (for those of you who have been following me for some time now must know that). I believe that it is vital to share facts and history, and sometimes certain things need to be mentioned in order for individuals to be properly educated and aware of what is going on.‼️

Hollywood and Hasbara Event Notes

At the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem, Israel!

Some highlights from last night when I got to attend “Hollywood and Hasbara!” This anti-BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) educational tour is focusing on how to best fight for Israel on the world stage.

Featuring Roseanne Barr and Shmuley Boteach! Moderated by Dep. Speaker of the Knesset, Hilik Bar. 

A point that made many heads nod in agreement: The lack of acknowledging the 850,000 Jews who were expelled and evacuated from Arab and Muslim countries, mainly from 1948 to the early 1970s. Many of these jews came to what is now Israel- which comprises just 0.1% of the land mass of the Middle East, yet it is asked to give up territory. Israel is surrounded by 22 Arab and/or Muslim Nations. 

They made sure to discuss the importance of debunking the common belief that Israel is an apartheid state. Rabbi Shmuley reminded of how an Arab judge by the name of George Karra had sentenced a former Israeli president to jail. This is just one of many examples of how Israel does not practice apartheid. The fact there is an Arab judge and the fact he sent a Jew to jail. There are more than 1.2 million Palestinian-Arabs living in Israel as full Israeli citizens. They serve in Israel’s parliament, diplomatic corps and on the Supreme Court. 

I especially appreciated Roseanne’s definition of Zionism, which is: You cannot kill me anymore. Here I am and here stay. This was especially meaningful to hear being that it was Holocaust Remembrance Day yesterday.

Yehuda Glick was also in attendance! I remember seeing him in the news back in 2014 when he had been shot by a terrorist (apparently in the exact center where we had been sitting during this talk). He is currently a member of the Knesset and campaigns for expanding Jewish access to the Temple Mount (which is the holiest site in Judaism, as the Jewish Temples had stood on the Temple Mount). While Muslims are free to pray on Temple Mount, Christians and Jews may only visit the site as tourists and are forbidden from singing, praying, or making any kind of "religious displays”- though this site is holy to all three religions.

Glick recounted the terrifying moment he was shot by an Islamic Jihad terrorist who approached him and said, “I’m terribly sorry, but you are an enemy of Al Aqsa,” before shooting him in the chest 4 times. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. His would-be assassin was shot dead hours later during a police raid at his home. Today- his wedding day- he again went up to the Temple Mount. 

An interesting account that Shmuley Boteach had shared that I feel is worth mentioning. He shared that he had brought Dr. Oz (yes, the famous Dr. Oz) to Israel several years ago. Being that Dr. Oz is Turkish, he was given permission to go up to the Temple Mount. Dr. Oz’s wife, therefore, was not given permission- being that she is a Christian. She found it interesting that she had not been excluded from any Jewish areas or areas controlled by Jews.

Why You Can't Boycott Israel

There has been much written recently about BDS (Boycott, Disinvestment and Sanctions) against Israel following Professor Stephen Hawkings’ decision to cancel his appearance at the Israeli Presidential Conference in June. 

Dear BDS member.  By boycotting Israeli treatments and research you will cause the deaths of millions of children from Hepatitis B because they couldn’t have SciGen’s Sci-B-Vac only third-generation Hep B virus vaccine.  You would have to destroy the research by Hadassah Medical Organization that located the gene that causes recurrent life-threatening infections and bone marrow failure in children.  The babies born deformed and blind from ectodermal dysplasia cannot touch the gene therapy that Israel’s Technion has developed.  Children paralysed by the genetic brain disease Peripheral Neuropathy will just have to whistle for the medication developed by doctors at Hadassah Medical Center – except of course that they can’t whistle. 

BDS members obviously have no wish to cure cancer. 

•             You would boycott Hebrew University Professor Alexander Levitzki’s award-winning cancer therapies.
•             You would dispatch Technion’s diagnosis breath test for lung cancer and stomach cancer to the garbage, despite the fact an Israeli Arab invented it.
•             Gamida Cell’s Nicord and StemEx treatments for blood cancers, leukemia and lymphoma are “No No”s. So is Biocancell Therapeutics’s new treatment for bladder cancer.
•             Melanoma (skin cancer) sufferers can forget the successful T-cell treatment at Sheba Medical Center. 
•             You must not treat patients with aggressive cancers if it requires the multi-antibody combination discovered by Israel’s Weizmann Institute.
•             Ban any work on the Hebrew University’s discovery of a mutated protein breast cancer signal. Then when you developed breast cancer your surgeons would just have to cut away healthy flesh with the tumor, as they would not be allowed to use the MarginProbe breast cancer test from Israel’s Dune Medical. 
•             Children will contract kidney cancer because you prohibited Sheba Medical Center’s treatment of the cancer stem cells that fuel the growth of Wilms’ tumors. 
•             Finally your worst nightmare is to be injected with Weizmann Institute’s microscopic device that searches the body for genetic malfunctions in the cells. 

 BDS members have no heart, no brain and no spine, otherwise why would they want to boycott Israeli cardiology, neurology and spinal treatments? 

Heartless BDS members would need to avoid

• Lev-El Diagnostics’ heart monitor algorithm that identifies heart disease in one hour instead of two days.
• Enopace Biomedical’s endovascular micro-stimulator, which acts as a pacemaker for the arteries. 
• Or Dr. Shai Efrati, of Tel Aviv University, whose Oxygen enrichment therapy improves stroke patients even 3 years after their last attack. 
• And they would never use one of InspireMD’s new self-expanding stroke-preventing stents.

Brainless BDS activists can ignore Israel’s latest neurological discoveries and innovations such as:

• How regulating the protein Calphotin can prevent Alzheimer’s disease
• Why the sugar substitute mannitol protects the brain against Parkinson’s
• Deep Brain Stimulation which treats Parkinson’s disease and helps smokers to quit
• The pre-natal diagnostic tool for prevention of genetic mental retardation
• BioControl Medical’s system that reduces epileptic episodes by half.
• Alcobra’s ADHD medication, which is safer than Ritalin and has few side effects.
• And certainly Weizmann’s research into how the brain repairs itself.

Spineless BDS bigots will have to forgo

• Argo Medical’s ReWalk exoskeleton for paraplegics, for which Version 2 was shown to US President Obama; IDF paraplegic Radi Kaiuf used it to complete the Tel Aviv 10km race in less than 4 hours.
• Mazor Robotics’s robotic spinal surgery which has just been approved for sale in Australia.
• Premia Spine’s artificial titanium joint that restores mobility to sufferers of spinal degeneration
• Bonus Biogroup, which is generating new bones from a patients’ own fat cells.
• Cartilage regeneration from a CartiHeal Agili-C implant
